Casino Good and Not So Good Practices

Slots Play Casinos would like to delve into the world of both the good and the less good gamers’ practices at online and land-based casinos.  Good practices make for better gaming andd poor practices make for not-so-good gaming.

Play at Land-based Casinos for the General Excitement Only

Slots Play Casinos primarily reports on online casinos.  We feel that for most gamers online casinos offer a much more rounded form of casino entertainment and fun.  However, and this is a big however, we readily agree that land-based casinos have an element of excitement that online casinos do not have.

The excitement at land-based casinos is basically around the craps and roulette tables where players are encouraged to whoop and holler as the dice roll and the wheel spins.  Some people get excited just walking into a casino.  These are exactly the people we feel are much better off playing at an online casino!

Now, if you do travel to a land-based casino for the whooping and hollering, we urge you to play craps.  Learn how craps works because it can be confusing.  Play the Come or Don’t Come lines.

Please do not play roulette at US land-based casinos where the roulette game will be American Roulette with 0 and 00 and a house edge that is twice the house edge in European Roulette which our recommended casinos do offer.

Make a Point of Playing as Many Online Games as Possible

We have recommended about 30 online casinos.  They offer a few hundred games each.  Some have games form several game providers.  Whereas land-based casino players tend to play one game for the entire time they are at they casino, online gamers can be infinitely more flexible.

We urge gamers to flex their flexibility muscles and play a lot of games.

It is a big mistake for players at land-based casinos to play one or two slots over a long weekend but so many do.  It is a big boon to gaming fun to be able to go from game to game with ease at a great online casino.

In addition to our recommended casinos, gamers can use Instant Play to join any online casino they wish to join and to play all of their games.  Casino gaming is so wide open at online casinos while it is functionally quite shut at land-based casinos despite the rows and rows of slots.

Online Gamers Can and Should Accept Deposit Bonuses

The benefit of accepting bonuses is that you get 100% or more extra money to play with.  With responsible gaming, this extra money is easily translated into fun and entertainment.

Some online casinos offer bonuses of 200% or more.

This is in contrast to land-based casinos which cannot offer bonuses.  Every deposit bonus has a wagering requirement which online casinos discovered early on is needed to prevent the few gamers from cashing out as soon as their online casino accounts were credited with the bonus.

Land-based casinos cannot offer bonuses because most players cannot complete the wagering requirement before they want to cash out and go back home.

One word about online casino bonuses:  even though a casino might offer a 100% bonus up to $2000, you never have to take the full bonus.  It is excellent online casino practice to accept a bonus that is in line with your overall gaming budget.  If that means depositing $50 and getting another $50 to play with, it is what is best for those gamers.

It is Very Poor Practice to Use a Betting System

If these systems worked, all casinos, on land and online, would be out of business in no time.  Betting systems do not work.  The big flaw in betting systems is that they don’t take into account losing streaks.

Everyone loves a winning streak but losing streaks are also part of the game.  When you use a betting system, generally you increase your bet after a loss.  When you win the next bet or the one after that, you win your original bet.  If you have a five-round losing streak, you could be asked to make a very irrational bet just to win back your original bet.

Most Gamers Play Slots

There is an element in slots called volatility that all gamers should consider when they play slots.  High volatility means that wins are generally higher but there are fewer winning spins.  Low volatility is the exact opposite: the winning spins pay out relatively little but they are a lot more frequent.

Two slots might have the same return-to-player rate which at online casinos is about 97% but you are a lot more likely to share in the winnings if you play slots with low volatility.

The return to player rates in land-based slots are closer to 90%.  That’s because land-based casinos have such enormous operating costs so they have their game providers calibrate the random number generator to pay out a lot less than online slots pay out.

The Return to Player Rates in Blackjack and Video Poker are about 99.5%!

In addition, there is no built-in volatility in these games.  That means that if you play every hand correctly, you will almost break even after an average session and you will have many sessions in which you win.

Learning how to play every hand correctly is quite a challenge.  It is very good casino practice to learn the best strategy for both blackjack and video poker and to play these games at least as often as you play slots.

It is also important to know which games can be won using the correct strategy and which games have no winning strategy at all.

Slots Play Casinos Covers a Lot of Ground Occupied by Online Casinos

Actually, online casinos occupy a lot of space in cyberspace.  This is the main reason why we say that online casinos are superior in almost all ways to land-based casinos.

Slots Play Casinos has many playing guides for different casino games.  We publish these articles to help you get the most fun out of casino gaming.  When you come to Slots Play Casinos at least once a week, you will find new information and bonus offers.
